Bloggers Unite

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Well, once again I’m sitting at my desk thinking about the previous night’s London Bloggers meetup. And once again I’m feeling rather smug thinking ‘I organised that’, because it was another really great night. We had a fair few new faces and a handful of regulars - if you can call someone a regular after three events, but none the less they were there in spades*.

Interesting to learn last night that blogging is far more established in France. The bloggers meetups on Paris are more hedonistic, running into the wee small hours. Next time you’re over there it might be worthwhile looking one of these parties up. I also heard some fairly disparaging remarks about the iPhone and Paul McCartney - I thought everyone loved both of these..!

Good to see Tim Dickinson last night of Plummet Onions fame. He was the lucky winner of Qype’s competition for a case of wine. Looks like Qype may be back on board for the next meetup which means more competitions and more free beers! Woo hoo!

Well, thanks to everyone who came along last night. I may organise the bloggers meetup, but it’s those of you who attend that make them so interesting. Please come again. I want to make this blog more interactive and any suggestions welcome. Of course, you could start by adding a few comments!

For those who signed in I’ll add you to the blogroll when I get a spare moment. Oh and here are some of the photos from last night!

Thanks everyone, see you all on the 25th March!

London Bloggers New Year Extravaganza

It was as promised a cracking evening on Tuesday. Around 35 or so people turned up to the London Bloggers Meetup, with plenty of established bloggers, several more beginners and a handful of people who haven’t even started yet - although I’d put money on them having got started by now.

So what were the highlights?

Well for me at least the free beers from Qype were great. But apart from the alcohol, it was great to meet with the Londonist crew, Mike Atherton aka sizemore, John from Scribblesheet www.scribblesheet.co.uk and a host of others. It generally confirmed my belief that the London Blogosphere and tech industry is a vibrant and interesting place to be.

Without further ado, here’s a quick thanks and a link out to all of those who signed in, hope you can all make it to the next event on Tuesday 26th January! Oh and you might spot yourself on a photo or two below.

Many thanks once more to Rob Hinchcliffe and the Qype team for supporting the event (if you haven’t their prize competition yet, don’t hang around, the winner will be selected soon) and to the Londonist crew and others for promoting the meetup.
