I Certainly Enjoyed the Breeze

What a fantastic London Bloggers Meetup we had last night.  It had everything: 45+ bloggers, drinks courtesy of Bacardi Breezer, a good talk from Simone, all wrapped up in a reasonable venue with some pretty good platters of food floating around too. Great to see lots of regulars in attendance alongside the usual selection of newcomers. I hope you all found the event welcoming and enjoyable and of course had the chance to try out a Breezer. I have to say the Blueberry was a bit too sweet for me, but the Raspberry was very drinkable.

Congrats again to Epicurienne, Lolly and Ann Fenech (not French) on winning the House of Fraser vouchers. Please come back and write a guest post to let us all know what you decided to buy, even if it is shoes Lolly and especially if it is to do with your wedding Epicurienne! Oh and the winning entry was:

I’ll be posting Simone’s slides up here soon, but what an interesting talk she gave. Good to see a resource for women entrepreneurs in the technology world. It sparked a few conversations around how events with a technology slant tend to be very male dominated, but given that we had roughly a 50:50 ratio of woman to men last night, I’m pretty delighted to say that’s not the case with #LBM. I’m looking forward to Simone’s event tonight too.

Good talking to Tim, Godwyns, Hayley, Dave, Willem,  Rob, Drew and many many more. Thanks to all those who popped along and shame on those who RSVPd ‘yes’ but didn’t show… not that we could have fit you into the venue in any case…

Keep your eyes peeled for details of the next #LBM which will be announced very shortly. If you like a drink, you’ll love the next one! Also, see below a few snaps courtesy of my lovely wife for you all to enjoy. Hopefully Peter will make a selection of his photos available on Meetup soon too.

Cheers,
Andy

Enjoying the Breez-er

That’s right, the London Bloggers Meetup in February is being sponsored by our friends at Bacardi Breezer. Why? I hear you ask. Well, I’ll tell you.

This month Bacardi Breezer launched a refreshing new 100 calories range in fresh and fruity Blueberry, Raspberry and Pomegranate and to celebrate the wise people at Bacardi have decided to treat the London Bloggers Meetup members to some samples, free drinks and a fantastic competition.

One lucky winner will pick up a guilt free shopping spree at House of Fraser with a £150 shopping voucher up for grabs. Go on indulge in some designer shopping for a ‘New Year new you’ wardrobe. The fun doesn’t stop there, Bacardi Breezer has also provided two £75 shopping vouchers for two lucky runners up. Nice!

After hitting the shops, what better way to relax than with the great tasting refreshing blend of tropical flavours, BACARDI Rum and sparkling water, that make up the Bacardi Breezer 100 calories range…saving you calories, and helping you stick to your New Year’s resolutions!

Sounds good right? So how do you get your sticky mitts on these fantastic prizes then? As always it requires a little creativity. All you have to do is answer the following question:

Bacardi Breezer 100 calories has just that, 100 calories. The most fun I’ve ever had burning off 100 calories is…

Your answer can be a text comment posted up on this blog, a drawing scanned in and emailed to me, or a video posted on YouTube, or any combination of these. The three most entertaining posts entered before the deadline of 12 midday on Monday 23rd February and as decided by a panel of expert judges will pick up the prizes. To win the grand prize you must attend the Meetup on the 24th February.

Well, what are you waiting for, come on London Bloggers, get creative! Make us laugh and you’re in with a good chance.

Fifth Estate: Bringing Bloggers and Not for Profits Together

Is there space for a conversation between not-for-profit organisations and bloggers? The CIPR Fifth Estate Group thinks yes and are organising an event on the 19th January February in Central London to start the discussion.

The informal evening will bring together Social Media natives with PRs from charities to meet, network and discuss the potential Social Media has to enhance communications from the not-for-profits in the online world.

It’s free for members of the CIPR Fifth Estate and The Third Sector PR and Comms group, who have also partnered on the event. If bloggers would like to attend they just need to sign up with their names, URLs etc at the wiki.

For more information visit the blog.
