We are being joined at this month’s London Bloggers Meetup by Naked Wines. For those who haven’t come across Naked Wines before they are a completely new and different online wine retailer. What makes them different is they invest in independent winemakers in exchange for preferential prices – which they pass on to their customers.
The wines taste great because the winemakers can pour their passion into making great wines and perhaps the best bit, they cost anything up to 65% less. Beautiful.
As part of their involvement in the London Bloggers Meetup, Naked Wines will be creating a special mixed case of wine just for our community. One lucky blogger will even win a case to take home and enjoy at their leisure.
How can I win?
Yes I thought you’d ask. Well, there’s only one free case and to claim this you simply need to nominate a charity in the comments of this blog post. We will then draw a winner out of the hat at the meetup on the 17th November.
The profit Naked Wines makes from the sale of the London Bloggers Meetup case will then all be donated to the charity nomimated by our lucky winner.
So hang on, are you telling me I could support my favourite charity and win a case of wine, simply by nominating my favourite charity below.
Yep….
It’s as easy as that. Oh and of course you must come along to the Naked November meetup on the 17th November. More details here.
As another competition draws to a close I have the pleasure of announcing a winner. This time the competition was to win one of Ambient Lounge’s fantastic designer bean bags.
The entries were all great, but there was one blogger who literally went bean crazy, even to the point that he compared himself to this handsome chap on the left. At this point you may well have guessed who the winner is…
but a further clue is that his entry included a comparison of TikiChris to a Polynesian Green Bean, Lolly Borel to a French Bean and in fact he went on in great style to compare a whole host of LBM’ers to beans.
Yes, if you haven’t already guessed, the winner of our competition to ‘Win Yourself a Slice of Comfort‘ is Mr Rax Lakhani.
To read Rax’s lengthy competition entry post simply click here. What an astonishingly original and entertaining piece of blogging. Rax, send me an email and I’ll help you to organise your prize.
Thank you to all of the other competition entrants too. Keep your eyes peeled on the blog as we regularly host competitions and hopefully you’ll have better luck next time.
Cheers,
Andy
A little while ago we launched a competition to win a ticket to the Social Email Marketing conference running in London later this year. We had twelve correct entries but sadly there could only be one winner and unbelievably – given I only interviewed her on this blog yesterday – the winner is Laurence Borel.
Congrats Lolly, I’ll drop you a line with instructions for how to claim your prize.
For the rest of you, it’s not all bad news. There’s still a 10% discount available to London Bloggers Meetup community members. Simply click here for the registration page and use the following discount code LBM10 when buying your tickets.
The organisers have also, rather generously offered a massive discount for their Social Media Advertising conference on the 20th September in London, with tickets available for just £45. There are only a handful of tickets available, so if you are interested, drop me a line and I’ll send you the discount code.
You can find out more about the Social Media Advertising conference here.
Don’t forget there’s also still time to grab yourself a designer bean bag!

I’m getting pretty excited as we approach the next London Bloggers Meetup. Firstly because we’ve jumped over the 100 registrations mark for the first time ever. As it stands we have 117 bloggers confirmed for next week which is simply great.
The second reason why I’m excited is we have a last minute competition which will interest all of you bloggers working in social media. I have one FREE ticket to the Future of Social Media conference up for grabs, courtesy of our friends at United Business Media. What’s so great about that you might say, well, I’ll tell you:
- The tickets retail at over 500 quid, so that’s quite a saving
- The one day conference includes presentations from Andy Hobsbawn from Agency.com, Rohit Bhargava from Ogilvy, Mark Watts-Jones, Head of Innovation at Orange, Ask.com, Xing, Last.fm, Plaxo.com and more.
- There is a fantastic agenda covering topics such as leveraging online communities, determining the future of social media marketing and much more..
- To quote the organisers “This is an essential event for any marketing, PR, branding, online, digital and corporate communications professional looking to capitalise on the power of social media”.
For more details check out the website, but essentially the conference is being held at the Cumberland Hotel on Thursday 29th January.
What do you need to do to get your sticky mits on this fantastic prize?
As with most London Bloggers Meetup prizes it requires you to make me laugh. That’s right, the ticket will be awarded to the person who writes / draws / vlogs the most entertaining response to the following question in the comments for this post:
I deserve to win the free ticket to the Future of Social Media conference because…
Now that shouldn’t be too hard for all of you fantastically creative writers and bloggers. If you want to post a video, simply add it to YouTube (or other) and post up the link in the comments, or for images, email to me via the Meetup page.
Well, what are you waiting for, get started. The winner will be announced on Tuesday 27th Jan (i.e. at next week’s Meetup). The deadline for entries is 8pm on Monday 26th Jan.
Cheers,
Andy
The small print: the conditions of the prize are that a) you have to attend as I have only ONE ticket which rather than use myself, I’m giving away to one of you fine folk. b) you must live blog from the event. c) you must write a guest post for Londonbloggers.net about the conference.
Nothing too strenuous there I feel.
